I ♥ Comments. (What blogger doesn't?)
I also love the interaction that comments can bring. I love getting a response to a comment I've left, and I love responding to comments I've received.
But not every person that leaves me a comment has an email address attached to their comments, so I can't always send them a personal response via email. :(
Today, I noticed that Blogger made some changes to the embedded comments. Replies can now be posted to a comment! I've longed (a little dramatic, huh?) for this moment for a long time. Now, I can easily to respond to every comment AND I can reply to other comments on other blogs.
Thank you folks at Blogger!
I have also been waiting for that! YAY!
ReplyDeleteWait...did you have to change your settings to get this? I don't have this as an option on my blog?!
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain it's automatic, Sarah, but you need to have the comments (under settings) set to "embedded below post." I think yours might be pop-up window.
DeleteHmmm... I installed Disqus on my blog about a year ago so that I would have the option of directly replying to comments. Maybe I'll just switch back to using blogger comments now. I don't want to lose all the comments that I have, though, so we'll see.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if it works to switch back from Disqus without losing any comments.
DeleteDoes the reply on the blog also get emailed to the person? I will admit that I don't ever check back I see if someone has responded on the blog (as opposed to emailing me). Oh and I am horrible at commenting on other people's blogs even though I love getting comments on mine :)
ReplyDeleteLauren, I believe the commenter (you) would need to be sure and click on the "Subscribe by email" link in order to receive the reply.
DeleteVery cool! I'll have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteI've heard some people have had some troubles with this, but the transition has been smooth for me. I ♥ it! I think you will, too. :)
